Japanese Market Modestly Lower | Nasdaq

The Japanese stock market is lower on Friday after a lackluster session on Wall Street. The benchmark Nikkei 225 is down 0.18 percent to 33,477.96, with investors continuing to book profits after recent strong gains. Market heavyweight SoftBank Group is up 0.3 percent, while Fast Retailing is down over 1 percent. WTI Crude fell 3 percent to $71.77 a barrel, with the U.S. dollar trading in the mid-141 yen-range. The Nasdaq ended the session down 0.1 percent, while the Dow edged up 0.1 percent. In Europe, the markets moved to the downside, with the French CAC 40 Index falling by 0.5 percent and the German DAX Index dipping by 0.2 percent.
