The Switzerland market closed higher on Friday, with the SMI up 1.1% at 12,000.86, thanks to sustained buying support amid expectations of interest rate cuts by central banks. Swiss Re and Novartis gained over 2%, while Kuehne & Nagel climbed 1.71%. Roche Holdings, Sandoz Group, and Swiss Life Holding also advanced. However, Meyer Burger Tech plunged nearly 8%, and Belimo Holding ended 2.64% down. Retail sales in Switzerland grew 2.7% year-on-year in April, rebounding from a decline in March, according to data from the Federal Statistical Office.
