Orange Belgium and Proximus have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand fiber deployment and gigabit network access in Wallonia. The collaboration aims to bring fiber and gigabit networks to less densely populated areas, benefiting around 1.4 million households and businesses. This partnership will cover approximately 70% of Wallonian homes with a Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network, providing faster connectivity and supporting digital transformation. Proximus will extend its gigabit coverage to all of Wallonia by offering services to around 600,000 households through Orange Belgium’s Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) network. This collaboration aims to accelerate digital transition in Wallonia while minimizing construction disruptions.
