Premier Li emphasized China’s “AI plus” plan for integrating AI across industries and assisting less developed economies. The U.S. has sought to restrict China’s access to advanced semiconductors for AI, but China is developing homegrown alternatives. Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt met with Shanghai officials ahead of the AI conference.
