Skims has been expanding its presence in women’s sports, previously teaming up with Nike to compete with brands like Lululemon and Alo Yoga.

League One Volleyball, also known as LOVB, was founded in 2020 and is the largest community of youth volleyball clubs in the U.S. Skims’ CEO, Jens Grede, stated that the partnership with LOVB is an opportunity to blend fashion, culture, and sports. Skims will participate in athlete-driven events and leaguewide activations.

Kim Kardashian, co-founder of Skims, expressed excitement about empowering female athletes in the volleyball community. Skims sees volleyball as America’s next major sports league, citing recent growth in fan engagement and TV ratings. In 2023, a women’s volleyball game drew the largest-ever crowd, and the 2024 Women’s NCAA Volleyball Tournament was the most-consumed ever for ESPN.

ESPN secured the media rights for League One pro matches in May 2024. LOVB’s chief business officer, Michelle McGoldrick, highlighted the significance of partnering with Skims to support athletes and inspire the next generation of players and fans.
