Fluence Energy, Inc. has been chosen by AGL to build the 500 MW / 2000 MWh Tomago Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Newcastle, Australia. This marks Fluence’s largest project globally and one of the largest energy storage deals in Australia. The project will utilize Fluence’s Gridstack Pro™ product and provide grid-forming capability. The Tomago BESS is the third such project for AGL, following the Broken Hill and Liddell BESS. Fluence has a strong presence in Australia, with several projects under construction and in operation. The company aims to support AGL in transitioning to renewable energy sources.
