There are many options for those looking to venture out on New Year’s Day. Groceries and retailers such as 7-Eleven, Acme, The Fresh Market, and more will be open. Be aware of store hours, as well as which establishments such as Aldi and Costco are closed on January 1. Banks and government offices will be closed, but online transactions will still be available. Additionally, mail will be unavailable as the postal service and delivery companies are observing the federal holiday. Lastly, the stock market will also be closed on New Year’s Day.
