Calpine and CyrusOne have teamed up to provide 190MW of power to a new data centre in Bosque County, Texas, with a $1.2bn investment. The DFW10 campus is set to open by Q4 2026, supported by Global Infrastructure Partners and KKR. The facility will prioritize sustainability and grid reliability in ERCOT emergencies.
Calpine will deliver cutting-edge power solutions to the data centre, leveraging its fleet and Powered Land Capabilities (PLC) to support hyperscale customers. With 9,000MW of generation capacity in ERCOT, Calpine can supply up to 400MW to data centres in Bosque, Texas. The PLC suite offers scalability and reliability for large-load users like data centres.
CyrusOne’s COO, John Hatem, highlights the importance of the project in providing mission-critical power and infrastructure for AI-driven data demands. The collaboration aims to support grid reliability in Texas while meeting the needs of Intelliscale customers. The acquisition of Calpine by Constellation for $16.4bn is expected to be finalized by January 2026.
