Tesla new car registrations in Sweden rose 9% in Dec

From Nasdaq:

New Tesla car registrations in Sweden increased in December, with 1,789 new cars registered, up from 1,645 in the same month of 2022. The U.S. company’s market share grew to 6.1% from 4.6%. However, union action in the Nordic region has hindered imports of Tesla cars into the country.

The wave of union action in Sweden backed by IF Metall’s mechanics, demanding collective agreements, has been affecting Tesla’s operations. Dock workers in Sweden and Denmark have also stopped unloading and transporting Tesla cars destined for Sweden in sympathy action.

Tesla’s Model Y was Sweden’s top-selling car in 2023, with 16,412 new vehicles registered. However, in December, the Model Y slipped to fourth place with 1,098 new cars registered, lagging behind Volvo’s XC40.
