American Airlines is bringing back pre-pandemic destinations like Prague and Budapest, Hungary, as international travel outperforms domestic demand. New routes include Dallas to Athens, Greece, and year-round Miami to Milan. The airline is also expanding service for the 2026 World Cup, expecting high traffic from Argentina. Flights will run from May 21 to Aug. 4 next year, targeting business and sports tourism.

American Airlines is focusing on Europe service, anticipating strong demand in Italy and Greece. The airline is adding more options from U.S. hubs like Dallas and Charlotte for travelers connecting in Europe. Unit revenue for domestic flights fell 6.4% while trans-Atlantic revenue rose 5% last quarter. American Airlines emphasizes redesigning based on current demand, not just a return to pre-pandemic operations. New flights will primarily use Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners.
