Canadian bulk hauler Trimac Transportation has acquired flatbed and heavy haul carrier Searcy Trucking. Searcy, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, operates a fleet of over 120 trucks and 170 trailers, offering services to construction, agriculture, and manufacturing industries. The deal, closed last week, aims to create more value for customers and expand possibilities.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Trimac’s CEO, Matt Faure, stated that combining strengths will benefit customers and teams across North America. Searcy Trucking will continue to operate under its current banner, with its leadership team intact. Trimac’s acquisition improves its transportation offerings in Western Canada and the U.S. Midwest.

Norm Blagden, president of Searcy Trucking, expressed excitement about the partnership with Trimac, emphasizing a shared vision for the future. Trimac operates over 140 locations in the U.S. and Canada, employing 3,400 individuals. The acquisition aims to carry forward Searcy’s legacy and enhance specialized transportation services for employees and customers.
