Corn futures dipped on Friday, with September down 6 ¾ cents for the week. December also slipped 5 ¼ cents. The national average Cash Corn price dropped 1 3/4 cents to $3.65 1/2. USDA reported a private export sale of 125,000 MT of 2025/26 corn to unknown destinations. Commitment of Traders data revealed speculators reduced their net short position by 7,435 contracts. Commercials slightly increased their net short position by 2,417 contracts. Analysts estimate a national corn yield of 184.3 bpa and production at 15.995 billion bushels. Old crop corn commitments are at 70.621 MMT, lagging slightly behind the average pace. Corn futures prices on Sep 25, Dec 25, Mar 26, and New Crop Cash all saw decreases ranging from 1 1/2 to 2 3/4 cents.
