Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has reclaimed his status as a crypto billionaire with a portfolio valued at approximately $1.04 billion, holding 240,042 ETH and smaller stakes in other cryptocurrencies. Ether surged to $4,332, traders anticipate new all-time highs, with a move to $4,500 putting $1.35 billion in short positions at risk.
Some traders believe Ether is on track to surpass its November 2021 all-time high of $4,878. CoinGlass data shows a move to $4,500 could risk $1.35 billion in short positions. Arkham highlighted growing momentum for Ether ETFs, with $461M in flows for ETH compared to $404M for BTC.
Vitalik Buterin first became a crypto billionaire at age 27 in May 2021 when Ether crossed $3,000. He held around 333,500 ETH, valued at $1.029 billion. Buterin previously never held more than 0.9% of all ETH supply and his net worth never came close to $1 billion. He recently warned against the rise of Ether treasury companies.
