BigBear.ai, based in Virginia, specializes in AI software for data interpretation and decision-making, with a market cap of $2 billion. It caters to various sectors, with government contracts being a significant revenue source. BBAI stock has soared 480% in the past year, showing a 60% increase year-to-date.

Although BBAI stock trades at a premium of 12 times sales, above the industry average, its first-quarter earnings fell short of estimates at $34.8 million, driven by the Department of Homeland Security and Digital Identity projects. The company’s gross margin improved, but it reported a net loss of $62 million.

CEO Kevin McAleenan expressed optimism about BigBear.ai’s strategic direction, emphasizing strong relationships in key sectors. Cash reserves increased to $107.6 million, with reduced long-term debt. Full-year 2025 revenue guidance remains at $160 million to $180 million.

Analysts anticipate a widening Q2 2025 loss per share of $0.06 and a narrowing full-year 2025 loss per share to $0.25. The consensus rating for BBAI stock is a “Moderate Buy,” with analysts projecting a $9 price target, implying a 26% upside. H.C. Wainwright maintains a “Buy” rating.
