UK house prices continued to rise in December, marking the third consecutive monthly increase. The Halifax house price index showed a 1.1% rise from November, bringing the typical UK home cost to £287,105, an increase of £3,066. On an annual basis, prices rose 1.7%, after falling 0.8% in November. The uptick is attributed to a shortage of properties on the market and easing mortgage rates. In contrast, earlier data from Nationwide showed prices falling on 2022 levels.
