Wellgistics Health Inc. is implementing an XRP Ledger-based payment system for pharmacies in the U.S. to streamline healthcare finance. The platform allows pharmacies to pay for inventory instantly, cutting banking delays and fees. Integrated with RxERP, the system promises real-time tracking and lower costs. Pharmacies can enroll in the beta program. Wellgistics is one of the first healthcare companies to launch an XRPL payment solution at scale, with over 6,500 pharmacies and 200 manufacturers. CEO Brian Norton stated that pharmacy owners have embraced the initiative. The program enables pharmacies to settle invoices over XRPL, meeting strict compliance standards. Wellgistics plans to extend the platform to manufacturers and test direct-to-patient programs. The company intends to use XRP as a treasury reserve asset, backed by a $50 million credit facility. Wellgistics Health operates as a standalone Nasdaq-listed entity, offering wholesale distribution, prescription routing, and AI-powered hub services to pharmacies nationwide. Shares have dropped over 80% since the February debut, closing at $0.62 on Tuesday. By linking pharmacy payments to the XRP Ledger and holding XRP on its balance sheet, Wellgistics aims to position itself as a user and financial backer of blockchain technology.
