Argo Infrastructure Partners completes a $435m financing for Smoky Mountain Holdings, a joint venture with Brookfield. The financing strengthens Smoky’s position as a clean energy supplier in the Tennessee Valley, catering to data center demand. This marks the first financing of its kind in the US private placement market, featuring a unique structure that garnered oversubscription from investors. The project aligns with a ten-year power purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), set to deliver over 14 GWh of carbon-free hydroelectric energy, avoiding 11 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The financing supports clean energy and innovation in the Tennessee Valley.
