Infineon Technologies has finalized the $2.5bn acquisition of Marvell Technology’s Automotive Ethernet business, enhancing its presence in the software-defined vehicle market. The deal includes PHY transceivers, bridges, and switches critical for SDV communication, with revenues expected to reach $225m to $250m this year and a projected $4bn pipeline by 2030.
The acquisition, funded through a mix of funds and debt, aims to strengthen Infineon’s Ethernet business and innovation capabilities. A dedicated Ethernet Solutions business line has been established within the automotive division to centralize expertise. The move is anticipated to boost Infineon’s US market presence and R&D activities.
