Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has successfully acquired AssuredPartners for $13.45bn, expanding its presence in the US and strengthening its UK and Ireland operations. The deal, announced in December, aims to provide new business opportunities and enhance capabilities in niche practice groups. The acquisition is expected to be financially beneficial, with double-digit adjusted earnings per share accretion. The transaction involved purchasing AssuredPartners’ parent company from private equity firms and was funded through equity and debt financing. This acquisition follows Gallagher’s purchase of Woodruff Sawyer for $1.2bn in March.
