Amazon is facing a lawsuit from ACSO over alleged price-parity policy violations affecting 45 million UK consumers. The claim was filed on 14 August 2025. ACSO claims customers were overcharged from August 2019 to 2025 due to Amazon’s policies restricting third-party sellers from setting lower prices elsewhere.
ACSO alleges Amazon’s price parity policies shield the company from competitive pricing, resulting in increased costs for UK consumers. The group asserts consumers may be entitled to reimbursement for excess payments. Founder Matthew Maxwell-Scott states the lawsuit aims to challenge anti-competitive behavior and protect consumer rights.
Amazon’s pricing strategies have faced scrutiny worldwide. International law firm Stephenson Harwood, led by Genevieve Quierin, is representing ACSO in the lawsuit. The legal team includes Tim Knight, Alex Athanasopoulos, Katelyn Iacono, Mikaela Hristova, and Jay Kim.
Quierin believes Amazon’s policies are anti-competitive and detrimental to UK consumers. Ben Lask KC, Luke Kelly, and Jenn Lawrence of Monckton Chambers, along with The Brattle Group, are also supporting the collective proceedings. The lawsuit aims to secure compensation for affected consumers.
