Cotton futures are trading higher on Monday, with gains of 30 to 54 points. The US dollar index is up to $98.020, and crude oil futures are also up by $0.31. CFTC data shows a net short position of 57,083 contracts as of August 12. The Seam reported 401 bales sold at an average price of 57.93 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index remains unchanged at 79.40 cents. ICE cotton stocks are steady at 17,017 bales. USDA’s Adjusted World Price is at 55.05 cents/lb. Prices for Oct 25, Dec 25, and Mar 26 Cotton are up by 54, 31, and 30 points respectively.
