Hertz has announced a partnership with Amazon Autos to sell preowned vehicles online, starting in four initial cities. This move aims to boost Hertz’s retail operations and increase profits. Customers can browse, sign paperwork, and pick up their vehicles at Hertz locations. Amazon Autos now offers used vehicles from Hertz Car Sales.

Hertz, known for car rentals, aims to expand its digital retail presence with Amazon Autos. The partnership is part of a larger strategy to increase retail footprint, raise brand awareness, and build partnerships. After facing bankruptcy and a failed EV strategy, Hertz introduced a turnaround plan focusing on fleet management, revenue optimization, and cost efficiency.

The first quarter of this year was Hertz’s strongest ever for retail vehicle sales. The Rent2Buy program, offering a three-day rental period before purchase, has seen strong momentum and is expanding to more than 100 cities. Hertz’s goal is to reimagine the car-buying experience for customers, combining convenience, confidence, and scale with Amazon Autos.
