Autonomous driving tech startup Nuro wraps up a Series E funding round, amassing a total of $203m. The latest $97m tranche values the company at $6bn, with notable investors like Uber and Nvidia joining the round. Nuro aims to expand its AI-driven autonomous technology and strengthen commercial partnerships.
This funding round complements the initial $106m disclosed in April, bringing Nuro’s total funding to over $2.3bn. Nuro offers its Nuro Driver system to automakers and mobility providers, providing an economical solution for integrating autonomous tech into various vehicles and services. The company’s technical partnership with Nvidia has evolved into an investment relationship.
Nuro recently announced a collaboration with Uber and Lucid to launch a global robotaxi service, starting with over 20,000 Lucid vehicles equipped with Nuro Driver in the US next year. Uber’s investment in Nuro is tied to specific development and commercial milestones. Nuro president Dave Ferguson expresses confidence in the company’s technology and vision for autonomy at a global scale.
