NVIDIA introduces Spectrum-XGS Ethernet, a technology to combine distributed data centers for large-scale AI operations. This breakthrough allows data centers to surpass individual building limits with faster performance and scalability. It serves as a crucial infrastructure for giga-scale AI super-factories, linking data centers across cities and continents. Spectrum-XGS Ethernet integrates into the Spectrum-X platform, enhancing multi-GPU and multi-node communication for optimized long-distance connectivity. CoreWeave is among the first to adopt this new infrastructure, aiming to deliver powerful AI capabilities to customers worldwide. NVIDIA’s Spectrum-X Ethernet platform offers greater bandwidth density for hyperscale AI factories, including the world’s largest AI supercomputer, utilizing NVIDIA Spectrum-X switches and ConnectX-8 SuperNICs for seamless scalability and performance. This announcement follows NVIDIA’s series of networking innovations, such as NVIDIA Spectrum-X and Quantum-X silicon photonics networking switches, enabling efficient GPU connectivity and reducing operational costs. NVIDIA Spectrum-XGS Ethernet is now available as part of the Spectrum-X Ethernet platform.
