Bitcoin saw around 200,000 traders liquidated, losing over $900 million in the last 24 hours. The drop came after Bitcoin fell to a seven-week low below $109,000 on Coinbase, triggered by a large holder selling 24,000 BTC. The asset has corrected by 12% since its all-time high on Aug. 14.
Ether dropped to $4,340, above last week’s low, while Bitcoin’s decline took total market capitalization below $4 trillion. Altcoins like Solana, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and Sui saw larger losses. September is typically bearish for crypto markets during bull market years, with significant pullbacks in this month in 2017 and 2021.
