Okta CEO Todd McKinnon appeared on CNBC in September 2018 as the company reported fiscal results that exceeded Wall Street projections. Revenue grew 13% year over year, with net income up to $67 million. Okta raised its fiscal 2026 forecast, expecting $3.33 to $3.38 in full-year adjusted earnings per share.
In extended trading, Okta shares rose 4% after surpassing expectations with earnings per share of 91 cents and revenue of $728 million. The company’s net retention rate remained at 106%. Management forecasts 74-75 cents in adjusted earnings per share and $728-730 million in revenue for the fiscal third quarter.
U.S. government customers are more cautious about deals due to increased review, but Okta still performed well. The company expects to see expansions with customers as businesses need software to manage artificial intelligence agents. Okta also called for $2.260 billion to $2.265 billion in current remaining performance obligation for the next 12 months.
Palo Alto Networks announced plans to acquire CyberArk for about $25 billion, expanding its partnership with Okta. Okta also agreed to acquire Axiom Security, an Israeli startup, to enhance its software offerings. Okta shares were up 16% as Nasdaq rose 11% at the close of trading. Executives will discuss results in a conference call at 5 p.m. ET.
