Solana’s Play Solana project is launching its first handheld gaming console, PSG1, on October 6. The device boasts an octa-core ARM processor, 8GB RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, touch LCD display, hardware wallet, and fingerprint authentication for storing crypto assets while gaming. A limited NFT collection also offers early access to 2,000 holders.

Solana continues to expand into consumer products with the Saga smartphone and Seeker upgrade. Saga, released in 2022, saw success in 2023 with a $5,000 resale value due to a BONK memecoin airdrop. Seeker, launched in 2024, garnered 150,000 pre-orders, generating an estimated $67.5 million revenue and shipping to over 50 countries.

Web3 gaming devices are on the rise with Sui’s SuiPlay0X1 handheld gaming device integrated into the Sui network set for release in the first half of 2025. Mysten Labs, the creator of the Sui blockchain, is behind this foray into physical Web3 gaming devices.
