The settlement between Jimmy Haslam and Berkshire Hathaway over the accounting practices at Pilot Truck stop. The lawsuit was settled though the terms of the settlement were not disclosed. Now Haslams must decide whether to sell 20% of Pilot Travel Centers, a company with 650 travel centers in the country and 6 Canadian provinces, to Berkshire. Berkshire already owns around 38.6% of the company. Berkshire has accused Haslam of bribing employees to inflate Pilot’s value while the former governor’s family accused Berkshire of resorting to pushdown accounting to lower net income. Federal prosecutors have begun an investigation based on these allegations.
