Avista Corporation has filed annual rate adjustments with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission that could result in an 8.6% decrease in natural gas rates and a 1.7% increase in electric rates. The adjustments include reductions in the Purchased Gas Cost and Climate Commitment Act for natural gas, as well as increases in the Low Income Rate Assistance Program for both electric and natural gas customers. If approved, most residential natural gas customers in Washington could see a decrease of $9.13 per month, while residential electric customers may see an increase of $3.27 per month.
