Hecla Mining Company (NYSE:HL) saw its stock jump to a new all-time high on Friday, marking a fourth consecutive day of gains as investors capitalized on higher silver and gold prices. The company’s stock reached a record high of $8.54 during intra-day trading before closing at $8.51, up 5.45 percent. The surge in precious metal prices was driven by July inflation data, which reinforced expectations for an interest rate cut. Silver spot prices rose by 1.66 percent to $39.70 per troy ounce, while gold spot prices increased by 0.97 percent to $3,450.29 per troy ounce. Lower interest rates typically boost the prices of silver and gold by making them more attractive relative to other investments, while also weakening the US dollar and making the metals cheaper for foreign investors.
