French stocks are slightly up as investors await the confidence vote on Prime Minister Francois Bayrou’s government and U.S. non-farm payroll data. A U.S. appeals court ruled many of Trump’s tariffs illegal but allowed them to stay until mid-October. The CAC 40 is up 0.03% with Renault, Airbus, Pernod Ricard, and Stellantis leading gains. Economic data shows France’s Manufacturing PMI expanded unexpectedly in August, while the euro area’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.2% in July. Unemployment fell by 170,000 to 10.805 million in July compared to last year.
