Scatec secures a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with BTG Pactual Comercializadora de Energía for a 130MW solar project in Colombia. The PPA will cover 85% of the output, with the rest sold in the local market. The project is Scatec’s first in Colombia due to favorable conditions in the energy market. The solar plant’s estimated capital expenditure is $110m, with Scatec handling 80% of the costs. Funding will come from nonrecourse financing and equity, and construction is expected to start this year. CEO Terje Pilskog sees this as a significant move for Scatec and an opportunity to contribute to Colombia’s energy transition.
