Hewlett Packard Enterprise To Acquire Juniper Networks In $14 Bln Deal

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is set to acquire Juniper Networks Inc. (JNPR) for $14 billion in an all-cash deal. The purchase price of $40.00 per share is a 32% premium to Juniper’s closing price on January 8, 2024. JNPR stock surged 21.81% during regular trading hours and gained further in after-hours trading. The transaction is expected to be accretive to earnings per share and free cash flow. It will be funded through $14 billion in term loans and is expected to result in cost synergies of $450 million within 36 months of closing. The deal is anticipated to close in late 2024 or early 2025, with Juniper CEO Rami Rahim leading the combined HPE networking business under HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri.
