Tech Savvy Motoring At Consumer Electronics Show: VW Launches GPT Driver Assistant, Kodiak Unveils Robot Truck

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is showcasing new tech appliances for the kitchen and healthcare devices but is also driving the auto sector with the introduction of tech for motorists.
German carmaker Volkswagen plans to integrate OpenAI’s GPT-powered chatbot to provide motorists with an onboard voice assistant. The technology will allow drivers to control aspects of the car such as air conditioning and entertainment while keeping focus on the road.
Kodiak Robotics has revealed its semi-truck packed with technology to ensure its safety on the roads and plans to put the truck into service between Dallas and Houston later this year. The company has been testing the vehicle for five years in real-life scenarios that include more than 5,000 loads carried over a total of 2.5 million miles.
Hyundai will be showcasing its EV range and updates on its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft at the Consumer Electronics Show. Other carmakers, such as Ford, General Motors, Stellantis, and Toyota, however, did not make an appearance at the show.
