Brazil’s mills prioritizing sugar over ethanol also contributed. London sugar rose to a 3.5-month high after the ISO forecasted a global deficit for 2025/26. India may also increase sugar exports. India is projected to have a 19% y/y increase in sugar production in 2025/26. Thailand’s sugar production rose by 14% y/y in 2024/25. The USDA predicts a global sugar surplus for the 2025/26 season.
