David Ellison, CEO of Paramount Pictures, announced employees will be expected to work in the office five days a week starting Jan. 5, 2026. Those who do not wish to return can seek a buyout until Sept. 15. The move is part of cost-cutting measures, with layoffs expected between 2,000 and 3,000 employees. Paramount aims to reduce costs by $2 billion post-merger with Skydance. Employees in Los Angeles and New York will return to a full workweek first, followed by international locations.
