In August, Morningstar fund categories like Korea equities, India equities, and long-term euro bonds faced significant losses. The worst performer was the BlackRock Global Unconstrained Equity fund. Even a Gold-rated fund, Wellington India Focus, ended up among the worst in August. Despite a rise in the Morningstar Global Markets Index, many global indexes hit record highs, with a third of Morningstar-rated open-end funds for sale to UK investors posting negative returns. Korea equities had the worst average return, and Indian equity funds also struggled, making it a tough month for investors.
