DFDS has announced its acquisition of FRS Iberia/Maroc, expanding its network to the high-growth Strait of Gibraltar ferry market with a reported revenue of DKK 1.0bn in 2023. The growth-focused business plan aims to capitalize on annual trade growth of 8% between Morocco and Europe for the next five years. The integration of passenger and freight activities is anticipated to streamline operations, while the acquisition is expected to be accretive to earnings per share and ROIC. The transaction, completed at an EV/EBITDA multiple of 6x, will be financed through a combination of loan financing and existing cash funds.
