Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited has received FDA approval for an expanded indication of VONVENDI for adults with von Willebrand Disease (VWD), including routine prophylaxis to reduce bleeding episodes. This includes Type 1 and Type 2 VWD patients, as well as on-demand and perioperative management in pediatric patients. VONVENDI is now approved for a broad range of VWD patients, making it the only recombinant von Willebrand Factor (VWF) replacement therapy with indications for both adults and children. Takeda has also submitted applications to expand indications for VONVENDI in Japan and VEYVONDI in the EU for pediatric patients with VWD.
