FedEx Supply Chain will cease operations at a Procter & Gamble distribution center in Lima, Ohio, resulting in 63 layoffs by the end of October. P&G switched to a new logistics provider, prompting the change. FedEx disclosed the move in a notice to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

The affected employees will be offered jobs by the new logistics vendor, with wages and benefits paid through Oct. 31. This marks the second recent instance of job cuts for FedEx Supply Chain, following the layoff of over 600 workers at a Cummins Inc. distribution campus in Memphis.

The Ohio layoffs are unrelated to FedEx’s Network 2.0 restructuring. P&G, headquartered in Cincinnati, did not provide additional details when requested. FedEx is deepening its presence in Saudi Arabia amid trade growth and sending specialists to streamline European operations.
