The US inflation rate is slowly returning to normal levels after a historic spike of 9.1% in July 2022, which was the highest inflation rate since 1980. It is now back down to 3.1%, close to the long-term average of 2.6%. Inflation causes the value of cash to erode over time, but there are investments that can beat inflation. One example is the Kraft Heinz stock, which boasts a 4.2% dividend yield. Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, which owns a 26.5% stake in Kraft Heinz, has pocketed $130 million in dividend payments per quarter. Another option is the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, which offers an average annual return of 8%. Both investments make an excellent choice for consistently beating inflation.
