Spain’s Grupo Apex acquires the brand and assets of Uriarte Iturrate, including a manufacturing plant and warehouse in Murgia. The deal also includes machinery, trademarks, and patents, as well as a new microwave technology for clean label snacks. Grupo Apex gains its 13th production facility and plans to expand business at home and overseas. The company will retain seven Uriarte Iturrate employees with expertise in the technology. CEO Santiago Sala emphasizes the focus on growth and innovation to deliver healthier, more natural snacks. Grupo Apex has been active in M&A to achieve an annual turnover of €180m ($211.1m), with a portfolio that includes popular brands like Aspitos and Popitas.
