French antitrust clears Intermarche’s purchase of Casino stores with conditions

From Nasdaq:

The French anti-trust authority has approved Intermarche’s purchase of 61 Casino stores, with the condition that Intermarche will resell three stores to resolve competition concerns. Debt-ridden Casino is in talks to sell 313 hypermarkets and supermarkets in France to Les Mousquetaires and Auchan Retail, which would leave Casino with only Monoprix and Franprix. This move is aimed at easing Casino’s financial strain and reducing debt. It’s a strategic move for Intermarche, and the sale could potentially have a significant impact on the French retail market.
