Al-Modawat Specialized Medical in Saudi Arabia is close to completing the expansion of its eastern wing at the main hospital building. The new wing is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2025, resulting in a 23% increase in inpatient rooms and a 12% rise in medical clinics. The expansion aims to accommodate more patients and enhance service capacity, with a financial impact anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2025 and into the first quarter of 2026. The hospital’s board approved the project in March 2023 to address higher occupancy rates at an estimated cost of SAR3.2m ($0.85m).
In May 2024, Al-Modawat announced the continuation of the western building expansion and the equipping of the eastern wing to manage high occupancy rates. Long-term care and rehabilitation services provider Baraya Extended Care closed a Series B fundraising round in July 2025, securing $124m to expand its network of facilities and clinics in Saudi Arabia.
