Stocks Finish Roughly Flat After Inflation Data
From Dow Jones & Company:
Stocks rallied in the afternoon to recover most of their earlier losses after data suggested that inflation might not be slowing down as quickly as expected. The S&P 500 fell 0.1%, Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 15 points, and the Nasdaq Composite remained flat. Despite the initial drop at the start of the year, all three indexes were still on track to post weekly gains. The S&P 500 was only 0.3% below its record closing high set over two years ago.
