The World Bank’s International Finance Corp. unit is exploring securitizing loans to increase lending capacity, with a $510 million deal secured last month. The bank aims to replicate last year’s debt-for-development swap success in Ivory Coast. Africa receives 45% of the bank’s resources, with over 70% of concessional loans going to the continent.
