Trump is ‘obviously a threat’ to European interests, ECB chief Lagarde says

In an interview, European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde expressed concern over the potential “threat” of another Donald Trump presidency. She cited Trump’s track record on free trade, climate change, and NATO as areas where U.S. and European interests did not align. Addressing concerns about U.S. support for Ukraine, Lagarde emphasized the commitment from elected members to continue backing Ukraine. Trump currently leads Republican polls with about 60%, ahead of Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley at 12%. Lagarde also ruled out leaving her current position to serve in the French government, emphasizing her commitment to fighting Eurozone inflation.
