Toyota Motor Corporation has launched the e-Palette BEV for versatile mobility services, accommodating up to 17 passengers and reaching speeds of 80 km/h. The vehicle can transform from a shuttle bus to a store, with customisable interiors for various uses, including entertainment hubs. It is also designed to support automated driving with safety features. Toyota plans to introduce Level 4 automated driving systems by 2027.

The e-Palette features a 72.82 kWh main power battery, a low floor design, wide sliding doors, and an electric ramp for wheelchair accessibility. It is equipped with a Steer-by-Wire System to minimize steering effort for the driver. It also includes digital signage, a cabin monitoring system, and has both standard and quick charging capabilities.

Toyota Motor Europe has announced plans to start production of its first BEV in Europe at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ) site. The e-Palette BEV is designed to cater to a wide array of mobility services, with the flexibility to operate as a shuttle bus or transform into a store.
