Indian shares are expected to open positively despite weak global cues, following positive trade talks between India and the U.S. Benchmark indexes Sensex and Nifty rose 0.7% as officials discussed trade issues. The rupee strengthened against the U.S. dollar. Foreign investors bought shares worth Rs 308 crore, while domestic institutional investors bought Rs 1,519 crore worth of shares. Asian markets were mostly lower ahead of the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision. China sees the TikTok deal as “win-win” and will review technology exports. U.S. President Trump and Chinese President Xi will confirm the agreement on Friday.

The U.S. dollar index dipped and Treasuries held gains. Gold traded lower after reaching $3,700 an ounce. Oil prices remained steady after rising due to Russian oil industry pressure and Middle East conflict. U.S. stocks slipped during the Federal Reserve meeting, despite increased factory production and retail sales. The Dow, Nasdaq Composite, and S&P 500 all ended lower. European stocks fell, with the STOXX 600 dropping 1.1%. The German DAX, France’s CAC 40, and the U.K.’s FTSE 100 also saw losses.
