Eli Lilly and Co. released detailed results from the Phase 3 ATTAIN-1 trial for orforglipron, an oral GLP-1 receptor agonist for adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related medical condition. All three doses (6 mg, 12 mg, 36 mg) of orforglipron showed superior body weight reduction compared to placebo after 72 weeks. Participants taking the highest dose lost an average of 27.3 lbs and saw significant weight loss. 59.6% lost at least 10% of their body weight, with up to 91% of those with prediabetes achieving near-normal blood sugar levels. Orforglipron also improved cardiovascular risk factors and reduced inflammation levels.
